This new upgraded performance clutch for the Ford Focus MKII from RTS Europe promises big things. The unique design combines a twin purpose friction plate utilising both organic and paddle designs with a retracting strap plate clutch assembly. The result is a clutch rated to 500 ft/Ib torque, so suitable for all Ford Focus MKII, RS & ST225 applications, with a much lighter feel than a standard paddle setup matching practicality with performance driving.

Benefits of an Single Mass Flywheel.
The SMF replaces the out dated DMF. We have designed the SMF to carry the same weight as a DMF but the springs are transferred to the Twin Friction drive plate. This helps the application transfer heat more economically. The springs in the drive Plate allow for the standard peddle feel and removes any judder as with the DMF design.

RTS unique “Twin Friction” (drive plate) has been developed using a unique flywheel side friction material whilst adopting a segmented pressure plate face. The aramid friction exhibits 50% less wear than a conventional drive plate friction material.
This material also reduces the effects of fade. Fade is the decline in the clutch system’s ability to transmit torque as operating temperatures increases. These features in combination with the previously mentioned micro-structure of spheroidal casting and ER2 technology allows the clutch kit to dissipate heat far more effectively, allowing the clutch to run cooler for longer. RTS kit has been designed with a higher clamp load enabling the clutch system to transmit 60% more torque over the standard clutch kit and is suitable for every day driving, fast road and track/circuit racing whilst maintaining user-friendly driving experience. RTSTF-6500 HD (Organic)

This uses reinforced Organic Friction material on both sides of the clutch plate, this folows the OEM setup for the clutch however it will hold up to stage 1 vehicles while also maintaining complete OE pedal setup.

RTSTF-6500 (Twin friction) has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 500 lbs/ft of torque.

Twin Friction

RTSPC-6500 (5 paddle) has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal. effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 550 lbs/ft of torque.

Paddle

Due to its inherent design, engines are subject to rotating fluctuations. To minimise/prevent this, the NVH is absorbed by RTS unique clutch damper – function which suppresses the movement of the free, spinning gears and vibration transmitted to the transmission.

Paddle will hold more power as it has a ceramic pad material on both sides. This is more suited towards high power builds and non-daily / occasional track use. These performance clutches will have a heavier feel to it.
